Mission
The objective of Masjid Ibrahim is to cater to the spiritual requirements of the Muslim community residing in the Northwest Portland region, commonly referred to as Bethany. We offer religious, social, and educational services to empower the community in fulfilling their religious obligations, enhancing their spiritual practices, and nurturing a future generation of Muslims who adhere to their faith with profound knowledge. Our aim is to cultivate an atmosphere that embraces non-Muslims and fosters a deeper comprehension of Islam.
History
In the years 2010-2011, a small group of people initiated a modest one-room prayer space, with a mere 4-5 individuals attending daily prayers. Through divine providence, Masjid Ibrahim was successfully established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2013. Since that auspicious beginning, we have been organizing daily, weekly, and taraweeh prayers in congregation, as well as facilitating religious, social, and educational activities. Our steadfast commitment to maintaining a full-time resident Imam ensures that the Bethany community receives consistent religious guidance. The Board of Directors collaborates closely with the Imam to address the community’s needs. We are privileged to have acquired land for our permanent mosque, and the community is diligently working towards its construction in the near future, God willing.
